INFINITE Corporation to Provide Open License for AS/400 Migration toolset

BUENOS AIRES de ARGENTINA  –12 May, 2010 – INFINITE Corporation, an IT integrator and software provider  announced today that its migration kit for the IBM iOS (AS/400) will be provided on an open basis.  The no charge migration kit will include the compilers necessary to migrate RPG/400 applications to Linux.   Once migrated, the applications can be deployed on Linux using the fee-based INFINITE iSeries deployment environment.

“By providing the RPG development community with an opportunity to migrate their applications to an open source platform without having to pay licensing fees will create many more opportunities for RPG applications to continue to evolve in the 21st century”, said Bruce Acacio, CEO, INFINITE Software.

The RPG community is seeking ways to virtualize and consolidate outside the boundaries of the iOS and its attendant costs from IBM.  By providing a no-cost methodology for migration to Linux, thousands of high-quality, high value RPG applications will be made available under Linux.

The RPG migration toolkit will be available on 1 june, 2010.  More information on access to a secure download will be provided via www.infinitesoftware.com.
