Case Studies

INFINITE Corporation enjoys significant industry experience and many client engagements.

Company
Endevco, a California-based manufacturer of aviation components.
Project
Allow customer access to an Order Status Inquiry on an AS/400 ERP package to determine and report delivery information
Challenge
Allow internet access for the customer to the Order Status Inquiry. There were additional considerations, since the client did not own the source code and required a change to the legacy code in order to implement logic to limit access to specific customer numbers.
Solution
Endevco installed the baby.com and BABY/GUI products. The two products work in tandem to present their application in a GUI format within a browser. Our solution uses the 5250 datastream to create DHTML displays and therefore does not require AS/400 source code. In addition, the task for limiting customer number access was accomplished by defining the customer number input field as a Listbox and then adding some Boolean logic, using BABY/GUI’s Scripting functionality to compare the Listbox table with the AS/400 User ID.
Result
The overall customizations were completed within the 2 days of user training.
