INFINITE Corporation enjoys significant industry experience and many client engagements. |
|
|
Cargill, Incorporated is an international marketer,
processor and distributor of agricultural, food,
financial and industrial products and services with
98,000 employees in 61 countries. The company
provides distinctive customer solutions in supply
chain management, food applications, and health and
nutrition.
INFINITE Corporation empowers Cargill’s
business segments to analyze and report on its
varied operations by providing a web-based
multi-dimensional view of its information.
INFINITE
Software’s BABY/OLAP solution plays an important
role for financial and line managers to see what’s
going on inside their individual business units.
INFINITE Corporation allows those managers to quickly
drill to different levels and multiple dimensional
views of detail. This established criteria for “what
if” cost scenarios.
Cargill has worked to develop the best possible
enterprise reporting infrastructure that empowers
employees to obtain any piece of data critical to
increasing sales or improving project efficiency.
The INFINITE Corporation implementation, called
BABY/OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing), plays a
key role in delivering this information to the end
user.
With INFINITE Corporation technology, Cargill
employees are able to understand what is going on at
any given project location across their enterprise
in multiple database and platform environments.
Field and headquarters managers can quickly view
project costs and profitability trends at any
location and make decisions on the fly that can add
dollars to the bottom line. As a result of using the
INFINITE Corporation platform, Cargill is realizing
significant benefits (including high ROI) through
improved project management decisions, more timely
responses to information requests, cost reductions
efforts, and enhanced employee productivity.
Cargill builds upon the INFINITE Corporation
Information Platform
Cargill deployed the BABY/OLAP platform to anchor
all of its business intelligence applications.
BABY/OLAP was used as a critical element to provide
the analysis functionality and security features
needed to support varied project plans. Easy
deployability, simple maintenance, and greater
ease-of-use found in BABY/OLAP made it easier for
both the IT support staff and end users to use this
tool.
More than 70 users actively use BABY/OLAP™, an
all-XML, intuitive interface, to build their own
ad-hoc queries or run predefined data reports.
The
Decision
Several reasons influenced Cargill to select
INFINITE Corporation as the company’s primary business
intelligence platform. Cargill had a business
relationship with INFINITE Corporation that spanned
over a decade. The primary decision, however, to
utilize BABY/OLAP was based on the BI knowledge of
the Client Services team and the short
implementation schedule required to implement the
platform. BABY/OLAP provided all the major benefits
of more expensive BI solutions at a fraction of
their cost.
